Sustainable gardening

The Underlying theme of The Pines Garden is the exploration of old and new models for sustainable land management and sustainable living in general, with the garden having been run organically since Spring 2002. This is far more than just not using herbicides and pesticides and more to do with working in harmony with the natural systems, composting, recycling  and learning how to use natural predators to control pests.

The Pines Garden has excellent disabled access with specially created paths for wheel chairs and buggy access, making it the perfect day out for all the family. There is plenty of seating for visitors to come and relax in the gardens at any time of year.

Tea room & museum

Opposite The Pines Garden, you will find the Pines Tearoom, where you can enjoy some of the most delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks, available tin the Dover Deal and Sandwich Kent area.

Accessed via the tea room, The Pines Visitor Centre and Museum offers changing displays on environmental themes and rich local history from the surrounding Dover Deal and Sandwich Kent area..

Whilst visiting, take time out to explore the beach at St Margaret’s Bay and stroll up the magnificent cliff top with glorious vistas across the Channel to France.

The Pines Garden offers a naturally inspiring and great day out.
